Five State Parks
Peninsula State Park(Fish Creek), Potawatomi State Park (Sturgeon Bay), Whitefish Dunes (Jacksonport), Newport (Ellison Bay) and Rock Island.
All open daily with overnight camping available at all but Whitefish Dunes.
Bike, hike, boat, cross-country ski, camp, swim. Sights include: breathtaking views from observation towers at Peninsula and Potawatomi, the states highest sand dunes at Whitefish Dunes, sandy swimming beaches at Newport and Whitefish Dunes and the historic boat house on Rock Island.

Seventeen County Parks
Located throughout the county, most open year-round and from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. (920) 743-4456. Fishing, boat launching, hiking, biking, cross-country skiing and gorgeous views await the visitors. Ahnapee Trail features 11-mile mountain bike trail. Ellison Bluff has a view platform suspended out from the towering limestone cliffs and Tornado Memorial park recounts the history of a tragic fire that wipe out an entire community.

Door County Maritime Museum

743-5958. Open daily, year round. New 20,000-square-foot museum filled with priceless artifacts on Door Countys shipbuilding heritage, interactive exhibits and video displays and gift shop.

Washington Island Ferry
Northport Pier. (920) 847-2546. Year-round, daily and every half-hour in summer peak season. Reduced to once a day in the winter. Sights to see on the island (by bike, auto or Cherry Train) include Siever School of Fiber Arts, Little Lake, Schoolhouse Beach, the Farm Museum and Jacobsen Museum.

The Clearing

(920) 854-4088. This year-round adult school of discovery in the arts, nature and humanities was founded in 1935 by architectural pioneer Jens Jensen as a reflective learning center in a 128-acre
